Cancel your subscription first
If you subscribe to Tiang Pro, deleting your account does not cancel it — the subscription belongs to the Google or Apple account you paid with, not to ours. Cancel it where you bought it, before you delete:
- On Android: Google Play → Subscriptions.
- On an iPhone or iPad: Settings → your name → Subscriptions.
- On a Mac: the App Store app → your name → Account Settings → Subscriptions.
While you are still subscribed, Profile → Manage Subscription in the app opens the right page for you. If you delete first, you will keep being charged for an account that no longer exists.
The quick way: in the app
Open Tiang and go to Profile → Delete My Account. You will be asked to confirm, and then your account and everything synced to it are gone straight away. No email, no waiting.
The other way: by email
If you have lost access to the app, ask us instead.
- Write from the address you signed in to Tiang with. We can only act on a request we can tie to an account.
- If you signed in with Apple and hid your email, include the relay address. On an iPhone it is under Settings → your name → Sign-In & Security → Sign in with Apple → Tiang (the labels vary a little between iOS versions); on the web, sign in at appleid.apple.com and open Sign in with Apple. Or sign in again on any device and use Profile → Delete My Account, which also revokes Apple’s grant.
- Keep the subject line Tiang account deletion request.
- We verify it, delete the account and its data within 30 days, and email you when it is done.
What gets deleted
- Your account and the sign-in details we hold from Google or Apple: name, email address and account ID, and your display name if you set one. When you delete an account made with Sign in with Apple from inside the app, we also ask Apple to revoke the sign-in it granted Tiang.
- Your saved sign-in session on our servers.
- Every project synced to your account — the geometry, the materials, the country and the map location you set for the simulations.
- Every backup snapshot of your projects (Backup & Restore), including the ones you named yourself.
- Your simulation results, both the cached ones and any runs you saved for the Compare tab.
- Your undo history.
- Your account’s monthly usage counts, and the daily records of when you used the app.
- Any projects you shared, and the invitations to them. People you invited lose access.
- Subscription and entitlement records held against your account, where there are any.
What stays on your device
Your designs are saved on the device as well as backed up. Deleting your account removes our copies, not the local ones. The same goes for any floor plan you scanned — those images never reached us in the first place, because scanning happens entirely on the device.
To clear the local copies too, delete the projects inside the app, or uninstall Tiang, or clear the app’s data in Android Settings → Apps → Tiang. On an iPhone or iPad, deleting the app removes them.
What we may keep
- The installation record on our server: the random code the app made up when it was installed, when that installation was first and last seen, the app version, the device’s region setting, and that installation’s monthly counts. After deletion it is no longer linked to your account. It stays so that deleting an account cannot reset the free allowance. Clearing the app’s data gives the device a new code, and reinstalling usually does too (Android may restore the app’s data, code included, from a backup, and so may restoring an iPhone or iPad from one).
- RevenueCat’s record of your Tiang account ID and email, and of any purchase. It is made when you sign in, on any device, even if you never subscribe. Deleting your Tiang account does not remove it.
- Server logs. They hold IP addresses, request times, account IDs and the email addresses of people invited to projects. We have not set a fixed period for them, and they are not removed when an account is deleted.
- What Meta has already received from the Android app (see below). Deleting your Tiang account does not reach it.
- What the law requires — for example tax or fraud-prevention records where a purchase was made. Those are held no longer than we have to and then deleted.
Tiang shows you no ads, and we never sell or rent your data. We share it only with the services it takes to run the app — Google and Apple for sign-in, Google Play, Apple’s App Store and RevenueCat for subscriptions, Meta from the Android app only (it learns when the app is installed, each time it is opened and how long each session lasted, with your device’s advertising ID, a random ID of its own, the Facebook app’s ID for the phone where it can read one, and device details such as the model, the mobile network, the screen and the storage, so we can tell whether an ad for Tiang worked; the iPhone, iPad and Mac app has no Meta component), and the map and weather providers — and with anyone you personally invited to a project. The app also sends anonymous usage data about itself. The Privacy Policy has the detail.
